Packers top pick King placed on injured reserve

The Green Bay Packers placed rookie cornerback Kevin King, their top pick in the 2017 draft, on the injured reserve Wednesday.

To replace King on the 53-man roster, Green Bay activated defensive back Demetri Goodson from reserve/physically unable to perform list.

King was hampered with injuries in his first professional season and missed two of the last three games with a shoulder issue. He was also inactive during a Week 6 matchup in Minnesota because of concussion-like symptoms.

In the nine games he did play, however, King had 28 total tackles and five passes defensed.

Goodson started three games for Green Bay last season. He will be active for the first time since suffering a gruesome knee injury during a game in Washington last November.
