Chad Johnson may not be able to get a job in the NFL, but that is not stopping him from playing football.

The mercurial wide receiver made his CFL debut on Friday with the Montreal Alouettes, catching one pass for 13 yards on the first play from scrimmage. Getting him involved early did not seem to spark his numbers, though, as he and quarterback Troy Smith – of Ohio State fame – couldn’t connect on several other attempts.

It was a preseason game, but the Alouettes fell to the Ottawa RedBlacks, 26-10. Johnson, no longer known as Ochocinco, said before the game that he is quite, um, excited to be playing football again, especially in Montreal.

“It’s similar to the feeling before I lost my virginity. There’s a certain level of excitement ... anticipation ... not knowing what’s going to happen or what I’m going to get,” he told the Montreal Gazette.

Nice to see some things don’t change.
