Miss Sprint Cup Kimberly Coon to begin new NASCAR chapter at MRN

After serving as Miss Sprint Cup for the last four seasons, Kimberly Coon is hanging up her firesuit and picking up a microphone.
The Orlando, Fla., native has been a staple in Victory Lane and trackside as she has supported Sprint's NASCAR marketing efforts since 2011. However, for the 2015 season Coon will join Motor Racing Network's broadcast team.
"I'm beyond excited to announce that this season I'll be joining the amazing Motor Racing Network team to begin my next chapter in NASCAR on air," Coon said in a social media message sent out Saturday afternoon. "I'm forever grateful to you for the memories and to Sprint for sending me on the ride of a lifetime."
As part of her new role with MRN, Coon will handle reporting duties from pit road during qualifying sessions and interact with fans through social media and on air.
Coon will be joined by long-time NASCAR announcer Eli Gold and NASCAR Hall of Famer Rusty Wallace.
"The addition of Kim Coon and the return of Eli Gold to our Sprint Cup Series lineup bolsters a roster of broadcast and racing professionals who will continue to produce quality content as we head into our 46th year as 'The Voice of NASCAR,' " MRN president and executive producer David Hyatt said. "We welcome Rusty Wallace to MRN and the International Speedway Corporation family, and look forward to having him at many of our venues throughout the 2015 season."
The former Miss Sprint Cup will start her stint with MRN during the upcoming Budweiser Speedweeks at Daytona International Speedway.
