Kidd shows up to fan's birthday party, 14 years after invitation
It's not every day that your favorite basketball player agrees to attend your birthday party, and usually the RSVP card doesn't include a checkbox to indicate you'll be 14 years late.
But that's sorta what happened this week in the case of 24-year-old Daniel Marks, a longtime Jason Kidd fan.
In an Instagram post this week, Marks revealed that, for his 10-year-old birthday party, he sent an invitation to Kidd, who "didn't make it then."
Kind of a bummer for the young Marks, we're guessing.
But his luck changed once he was old enough to enter the work force and got hired as a database manager by the Milwaukee Bucks, the team now coached by Kidd himself.
Once they became colleagues, it must have been a bit easier to get that party invitation delivered and accepted!
In case you can't make out the message on the cake, it reads:
"Daniel, after 14 years J Kidd can celebrate your birthday with you."
Parties are cool, but getting to spend some quality time with your boss/idol? Icing on the cake, dude.
