Jake Lamb caps monster series with crash landing at home plate

Jake Lamb had a monster series in San Francisco, going 7 for 15 with four doubles, a triple, a home run and two walks to raise his average to .316. The home run was a memorable two-out, two-strike game-tying shot in the ninth inning that set the tone for the Diamondbacks' four-game sweep of the Giants.

Lamb also provided a bit of memorable comic relief on base paths in the third inning on Thursday. He reached base on a single, then stole second with an awkward slide into the base. And speaking of awkward, that's putting it mildly in describing Lamb's slide into home plate when Goldschmidt followed with a single. Let's just say he didn't exactly stick the landing.

See for yourself. But as long as he keeps hitting, we'll give him a pass.
