Impact Before striking out in his lone at-bat as a reserve DH in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Royals, Lamb hadn't played since Feb. 27 while managing a left quad strain. Lamb hasn't resumed playing the field, but his presence in the starting lineup Sunday suggests the quad injury isn't anything that will make or break his chances of winning a spot on the Opening Day roster. Lamb is attending Giants camp as a non-roster invitee after signing a minor-league deal in January.

Impact Lamb spent the 2024 campaign with the Pirates organization, appearing in 99 contests with Triple-A Indianapolis. The 34-year-old batted .266 with seven home runs, 55 RBI and 49 runs scored over 361 at-bats. Lamb will look to impress with the Giants in spring training in order to earn a shot with the major-league roster in 2025. If he cracks their 26-man roster, Lamb earn a $1 million base salary this season.

Back in Pirates' system The Pirates signed Lamb to a minor-league contract Friday and assigned him to Triple-A Indianapolis, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Impact Lamb opted out of his minor-league contract with Pittsburgh on June 18 but rejoins the organization just 10 days later. He posted a .796 OPS in 234 plate appearances with Indianapolis before opting out.

Impact Lamb appeared in only 18 major-league games in 2023 but put up an .874 OPS in 85 games (357 plate appearances) between the Triple-A affiliates of the Yankees and Angels. The 33-year-old corner infielder owns a career .235/.326/.427 big-league batting line spread over parts of 10 seasons.
