Jaguars sign second-round pick T.J. Yeldon

T.J. Yeldon, the running back from Alabama taken by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round of the NFL draft, became the most recent pick to sign with them Wednesday.
The signing took place after the Jaguars' second day of organized team activities. Guard A.J. Cann, a third-round pick out of South Carolina, is now the only choice not under contract.
The 6-foot-1, 226-pound Yeldon is expected to improve a running game where both Denard Robinson and Toby Gerhart were slowed by injuries in 2014 and combined to rush for only 908 yards and six touchdowns. Yeldon eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark as both a freshman and sophomore at Alabama and had four 100-yard games last season as a junior to finish as the second-leading rusher in school history behind only Shaun Alexander.
"It's kind of like Alabama -- the Pro Style (offense) and everything is kind of the same so I didn't have any problems doing some of the stuff," Yeldon told the Florida Times-Union. "Now I have to pick up the different plays, the blitzes and the (terminology) of it."
Yeldon's contract is for four years and includes a signing bonus of more than $2.9 million. He was the 36th player taken overall.
