'Inside the Magic: Tracy McGrady' premieres April 11 on FOX Sports Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. (April 11, 2018) – Tune in tonight, April 11 at 11 p.m. on FOX Sports Florida, the exclusive television home of the Orlando Magic, as we get set to premiere an all-new episode of “Inside the Magic” upon conclusion of the Magic vs. Washington Wizards game. “Inside the Magic: Tracy McGrady” looks back at Tracy’s 15-year NBA career following his induction into the Orlando Magic Hall of Fame on March 20, 2018.

Tracy grew up in Auburndale, Fla., where he played football and baseball before his cousins convinced him to try basketball because they needed an extra player. He quickly developed from an extra player in Auburndale to a star in the making. Tracy fine-tuned his game throughout his high school years at Mt. Zion in North Carolina. Following high school, he made the decision to forego college in favor of the NBA. The Toronto Raptors would go on to select him ninth overall in the first round of the 1997 NBA Draft.

In 2000, Tracy was part of a sign-and-trade deal to Orlando. McGrady was excited to join the Magic, a team he wanted to play for since he was a kid growing up in Central Florida. In McGrady’s four-year run with the Magic, he led the NBA in scoring for two consecutive seasons and set multiple franchise records, including scoring the most points in a single game (62) vs Washington on March 10, 2004. He also holds the franchise record for scoring average. His 15-year resume was good enough that he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall Of Fame in his first year of eligibility.
