Glen 'Big Baby' Davis has fun on the court ... and in the nail salon, too!

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 10:17 p.m. ET

Glen "Big Baby" Davis walked into Bellagio Nails & Spa recently and immediately noticed an opportunity for an assist.

There was a woman struggling to decide which color nail polish she wanted, and there were dozens of choices. She told Davis, whom she didn't recognize, that she was sorry but she was going to be there a while.

Davis then asked her how she was feeling, picked out a few choices for her and they had a fun chat as they finalized on a color.

What was a 6-foot-9, 300-pound Clippers player doing in a salon? Getting a manicure and pedicure, of course.

Davis comes to this salon, just a couple of miles from the Clippers practice facility, in order to keep his nails "on fleek."

The Clippers reserve forward, known for his energy and hustle and diving for loose balls, is every bit the entertainer in the salon chair as he is when he's yelling "pepper sausage sandwiches" when he's on the bench, to get his teammates fired up.

Davis was kind enough to let me tag along on a trip to the salon, which will air Wednesday night on "Clippers Weekly" on Prime Ticket.

I let him pick a color for me, and since I was wearing a lavender shirt, he picked a dark purple. Davis is an LSU alum, so I figured it was more of a shoutout to his Tigers than a coordinated fashion choice for me. And then LSU lost to North Carolina State in the NCAA Tournament that day.

Not only is Davis confident on the court, he's confident in the salon, even though everyone stared at him as he strolled down the aisle of chairs to get to his seat. The other man in the salon recognized him, but  most of the women just wondered.

Davis comes to this salon, just a couple of miles from the Clippers practice facility bi-weekly, in order to keep his nails "on fleek."

At the salon, Davis looks like a king, surrounded by three employees. One works on his nails, another his feet and another gives him a massage. And, since Davis has dealt with back problems, he gets that massage chair going and nearly falls asleep.

Davis doesn't come here with any of his teammates, but he figured he might be able to convince DeAndre Jordan to tag along sometime.

Still, he's made a bunch of new friends. When he got a call, an employee answered it for him and held the phone to his ear so he could chat. He thanked her profusely.

Davis always has his toenails painted black. In fact, I once noticed in the locker room that we were wearing the same color toe nail polish. Never thought that would happen.

While Davis waited for his polish to dry, an employee put on flip flops that were about half his size. Still, he was happy as a clam.

He was helping one gal find him on Instagram. He was chatting Southern food with a few other ladies. He let an employee wear his gold Angel chain with a diamond on it while his neck was being massaged, and that made her quite happy.

The salon is a happy place for "Big Baby."

Big guys can get manis and pedis, too.
