DraftKings MLB Picks: Top Bargain plays for September 22nd (7:00 PM Only)
Finding value is the ever so elusive, “Holy Grail” in Fantasy Baseball. Making cap room for pitchers and big bats can make all the difference in a lineup. With a little elbow grease in the research department, I’m hoping to offer a handful of players that could give critical salary relief for tonight’s DraftKings MLB picks.
Tonight’s Thursday slate features 10 games, with only one game projected to score over five runs. There aren’t many teams that stand out as clear-cut favorites to score the most runs, but Cleveland has the highest projection at 5.1 runs, followed by Houston (4.8), and Los Angeles (4.7). Depending on what lineup Houston uses tonight, they could be one of the more under priced teams. Here are my top cheap bargain plays for tonight’s slate.

Yulieski Gurriel – HOU (1B/3B) – $2900
Yulieski Gurriel will be one of my favorite low-cost plays tonight, given his sub $3000 salary and Houston’s run projection of 4.8 runs. Gurriel is better against righties, where he holds a .385 wOBA and a .192 ISO split.

Andrew Benintendi – BOS (OF) – $3100
Hopefully you rostered Andrew Benintendi last night, as he went deep in the sixth inning. Benintendi will draw another good match up tonight against the righty, Chris Tillman. He now holds an impressive .422 wOBA and a .237 ISO split against righties.
Rene Rivera – NYM (C) – $2300
Rene Rivera will make for a solid punt option at the catcher position. Rivera will face a lefty, where he holds a .395 wOBA and a .206 ISO split. While Rivera hasn’t been lighting up the stat column, he may trending in the right, as indicated by his batted ball stats of late. Of balls hit in the last 15 days, he has hit an average distance of 231 feet, with a hard hit rate of 41%.
Josh Reddick – LAD (OF) – $3700
The LA Dodgers projected to score 4.7 runs, and Josh Reddick could be a beneficiary. Riddick will draw a favorable match up against the righty, Tyler Chatwood. He now holds a .365 wOBA against righties. Reddick should be a good bet to return value if he’s batting in one of the top six spots in the order.
Others Players to Consider: Gorkys Hernandez, Yasmani Grandal, Josh Bell, Justin Bour, Tyler Collins
Note: Keep in mind that recommended DraftKings MLB picks are based off of early information and will be subject to change as lineups are released. Some cheaper players are more suspect to be scratched from the lineup or bumped down the lineup order.
