Donald Driver: Texans WR Andre Johnson 'isn't going anywhere'

The future of Andre Johnson remains unclear, but one Green Bay legend is certain the Texans star receiver will eventually return to the practice field in Houston.

Johnson questioned last month if the Texans were still the right fit for him, and he was a no-show at the team's minicamp last week.

Former Packers reciever and Houston native Donald Driver knows what Johnson is going through and expects him to still be in a Texans uniform this season.

"I've been through the same situation Andre's in," Driver told CSNHouston.com. "You feel like you want more. Normally, the organization knows what they want and the player knows what they want. Sometimes you have to meet in the middle. I think sooner or later they're going to meet in the middle and Andre is going to be back at camp."

"You know these minicamps and OTAs, do they really matter at the end of the day? No. As long as he's here for training camp when the season is starting and is getting ready to kick off," Driver said. "Andre will be back. It's just one of those things; it's a business decision that we all have to deal with. It's unfortunate."

Like Driver, Johnson has spent his entire career with one team since being drafted third overall by the Texans in 2003.

"Andre is here," Driver said. "He isn't going anywhere. He's made the team what it is and if you lose one of those guys, where are you going from there? You only go downhill. One of the things is, they don't have any one to replace him at this point. He's still one of the top receivers in the game so you got to give him credit."
