The free-throw line is a lonely, nerve-racking place. Turns out that all along, in order to stay calm there, Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki has put Adam Duritz of the Counting Crows in his ear.

Dirk's comical practice came to light during the new "Awesome Boring" podcast with Adam Davidson (Planet Money, New York Times) and Adam McKay (producer/director of "Anchorman," "Talladega Nights," and "Step Brothers").
