Clippers' Paul Pierce announces this season will be his last


Better enjoy Paul Pierce while you can NBA fans, because this season is going to be his last.
In a post on the Players' Tribune website, Pierce, a veteran of 18 seasons, announced this coming season with the LA Clippers would be his last.
Having won a championship as the leader of the 'Big Three' in Boston, Pierces announcement comes days Kevin Garnett, another member of that Celtics championship team, told the world his basketball career was over.
In his announcement, Pierce notes how special it will be to travel from arena to arena this season knowing it will be his last game at each. But not before acknowledging that this Clippers team has a real chance to win a championship this year and it was something he definitely wanted to be a part of.
The NBA Finals MVP in 2008, Pierce began his career with the Celtics as the 10th overall pick in the 1998 NBA Draft before short stints with Brooklyn, Washington and now the Clippers. The forward has been named to the NBA All-Star Team on 10 occasions and was All-NBA Second Team in 2009.
