Cam Newton breaks out his Batman cleats on Sunday

Cam Newton said he was an "entertainer and an icon" before he ever played an NFL snap. He's living up to his self-billing.

The Panthers' star quarterback rocked some special cleats before Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Apparently, he sees himself as a superhero:

Newton was forced to change out of those cleats, per NFL rules, before the game started. However, the Batman footwear must have rubbed off on him, because he ripped off this beautiful run in the opening quarter of the game:
