2016 Fantasy Football: Start or Sit Running Back Rashad Jennings

Week 7 of the 2016 Fantasy Football season is almost here. What should owners of New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings do with him this week?
The New York Giants have had a disappointing start to the season on offense despite high expectations. There have been multiple issues with the Giants’ offense to start the season, and the injury to Rashad Jennings certainly didn’t help them.
Jennings has played in just three games this season for the Giants, as he missed three games due to a thumb injury. In the first game of the season against the Dallas Cowboys, Jennings played pretty well, as he totaled 75 rushing yards in a narrow win.
In Week 2, Jennings was forced to leave the game against the New Orleans Saints early because of the thumb injury. Jennings went on to miss the next three games with the thumb injury before returning against the Baltimore Ravens.
In his first game back, Jennings was ineffective for the Giants, as he totaled just 15 rushing yards on nine carries. The Giants as a team didn’t run the ball well, and that is a concerning thing moving forward this season.
While the Ravens are currently ranked as the second best team against running backs in fantasy football, the Rams are in the middle of the pack at 15th. Against the Ravens, the Giants were far more inclined to pass the ball than run the ball, and the same could happen against the Rams.
In addition to his struggles against the Ravens, the Giants do have some capable runners behind him in Bobby Rainey and Paul Perkins. Jennings won’t see too many reception opportunities on third downs with those two, and that affects his value.
Advice: Depending on the type of league, Jennings would be best-suited to be on the bench if there is an option to use instead of him. There is a lot of unknown about Jennings right now, and that makes him a risky play at this point of the fantasy season.
