Tom Brady Finds Martellus Bennett for First Touchdown of Season (Video)
Tom Brady found Martellus Bennett for an easy touchdown, the Patriots quarterback’s first score of 2016
Tom Brady has been sitting idly by for the New England Patriots waiting for his four-game suspension to conclude. In Week 5 on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, it indeed was time for Touchdown Tom to make his 2016 debut. He looked wonderful on his first drive, which led to a LeGarrett Blount touchdown. It wasn’t long, though, before Brady was ready to get a score of his own.
After dicing up the Browns defense once more, Tom Brady and the Patriots found themselves in the red zone. Down on the seven-yard line, it seemed inevitable that New England would score. The only question was how.
How was with a beautifully designed play to the right side of the field. Chris Hogan released quickly and into the end zone, drawing in the coverage. Meanwhile, tight end Martellus Bennett waited on a delayed release. With Hogan taking the coverage deep, Bennett was wide-open in the flats. Brady found him with ease and Bennett walked into the end zone to give Touchdown Tom his first score of 2016:

They don’t make touchdowns that come much easier than that one right there. How nice of the Browns to let Brady ease back into the whole lighting up the other team thing.
It’s obviously against a horrendous Cleveland defense, but the Patriots quarterback looks as if he hasn’t missed a down all season. It’s hard to believe he only has a few drives under his belt and is already scoring touchdowns.
