Tom Brady appears to be getting ready for another Deflategate appeal

The NFLPA and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady appear to be gearing up for a continuing battle with the league after a U.S. Appeals Court earlier this week reinstated Brady's four-game suspension for his role in Deflategate.

On Friday, the NFLPA filed a notice indicating the addition of Theodore B. Olson as counsel, according to CBS Boston.

Also Friday, according to CBS Boston, the NFLPA filed a motion to extend the window to appeal the Second Circuit's Monday ruling from 14 to 28 days. That motion was filed by Olson and it could move the deadline to May 23.

All this seems to add up to a second straight offseason of the legitimacy of Brady's four-game suspension hanging over both the Patriots and the league.

"The Court's opinion will affect the rights of every player in the NFL," the court filing said. "Accordingly, the NFLPA and its members would benefit from additional time to analyze the implications of the decision for labor-management relations between the NFL and the NFLPA."
