The plummet continues: Fan who fell from Bills' stands reportedly fired

A bad week keeps getting worse for Rob Hopkins, a Buffalo Bills fan who fell from the upper deck at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Sunday and landed on top of a fan seated in the section below.

For starters, Hopkins fell 30 feet and injured his shoulder, which, you know, is not exactly the best way to kick things off. It also doesn't help when said fall goes viral and makes the rounds on every major news outlet.

Then the Bills announced on Monday that Hopkins had been banned from Ralph Wilson Stadium.

Of course, even if Hopkins wanted to go to another game, it's questionable at this point whether he would have that luxury, since his tumble also cost him his job as an art director at Eric Mower and Associates, a Buffalo advertising and public relations agency.

"EMA is very concerned about Sunday's incident at the Buffalo Bills' game and we are relieved that the injured were released from the hospital," the company said in a statement provided to WKBW. "Rob Hopkins is no longer employed by EMA."

Now, to make matters worse, the Buffalo News is reporting that Hopkins could face criminal charges for the fall, as well. According to the paper, Erie County sheriff's investigators are considering charging Hopkins with third-degree assault or reckless endangerment, both misdemeanors that do not require intent to prosecute.

So yeah, with a bum shoulder, no job and possible prosecution pending, things could be going better for Hopkins right about now. But hey, on the bright side, at least the Bills won.
