The Best NFL Halloween Costumes Pictures: Tony Romo Gets Picked On

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 6:50 p.m. ET

Let’s take a look at the best NFL Halloween costumes worn by cheerleaders, fans, fools, and ghouls from this year and year’s past.

We here at NFL Spin Zone wish you a very Happy Halloween! It’s always been my motto that you’re never too old or young to dress up for All Hallow’s Eve. There’s also nothing funnier than seeing Halloween partygoers still in (parts of) their costume the morning after. If those revelers were NFL players, they’d get flagged for excessive celebration. With this post, you can expect yellow laundry all over the place.

One common theme I’ve noticed in pulling together this gallery was Tony Romo and his reputation for being injury prone. Kids and adults alike broke out the slings, braces, crutches, and their No. 9 Dallas Cowboys jerseys to poke fun at the perennially polarizing quarterback. Now, you could probably add a clipboard and a headset to the get-up as Dak Prescott solidifies himself as the starter in Big D.

If I had to hand out awards, I can’t go wrong with babies dressed as Andy Reid or Mike Ditka. Simply fantastic stuff. Then again, the tribute to J.J. Watt and his bloody nose, which is tremendous.

And, of course, there’s always Cam Newton and his press conference attire. He’s thrown together some spooky looks. Who could forget the scarecrow, the steampunk Monopoly Guy, or Jim Carrey in The Mask.

But lets get to the actual costumes. Here’s a look at some of the best from this Halloween and Halloweens past.

Which one is your favorite? Needless to say, this league has inspired some great costumes and given us other great ones between fans and cheerleaders.
