The Houston Texans will add wide receiver Chandler Worthy to the active roster, the Houston Chronicle reported Wednesday.

Worthy, an undrated rookie free agent, had been a member of Houston's practice squad after being waived at the end of training camp. He was promoted to fill the roster spot of injured tight end Ryan Griffin, who was placed on short-term injured reserve on Tuesday.

The 5-foot-9, 173-pound Worthy, who has 4.3 speed, is expected to contribute to Houston's return game. He had 1,919 total return yards, including two touchdowns during his college career at Troy.

The Texans also signed offensive tackle Joe Treadwell to the practice squad.
