Report: Carr not contemplating surgery, should throw soon

The good news? Derek Carr's finger injury was never really considered a major one.

The even better news? Carr isn't considering surgery, according to CSN Bay Area

Per reports, the Raiders second-year quarterback suffered some nerve damage in his right ring finger. That injury is expected to heal with more than enough time to spare before minicamp on June 9.

Jack Del Rio said the team is "a little more cautious this time of year" with injuries like Carr's. And with the Raiders heading into such a pivotal season, it's wise to bring Carr along slowly -- even if it's just precautionary.
