Pete Carroll: Patriots' Gillette Stadium 'not a great place'

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll just coached his squad to a 31–24 win in New England on Sunday night, and he came away rather unimpressed with the environment inside the Patriots’ stadium.

“It’s not a great place,” Carroll said of Gillette Stadium on 710 ESPN Seattle. “They weren’t nuts. It's because they’re so used to winning. There was a time when they kicked their last field goal to go ahead, and it was like a round of applause for a nice effort. Gosh, our guys would be going berserk. We’re so hungry for it.”

Carroll was referring to a go-ahead field goal early in the fourth quarter that put the Pats up 24–22. He had a point; the crowd didn’t seem too thrilled.

It’s a real shame these two teams don’t play each other every year, considering Seattle’s coach has now fueled a rivalry even between the fans.
