Cost to have Gronk escort child to school in limo? $30,000

The New England Patriots on Tuesday night raised some serious money for charity at the Patriots Premiere gala, an annual soiree that serves as the team’s biggest fundraising event of the year.
The gala featured several compelling team-oriented items and opportunities up for auction, but perhaps the most fascinating one was the chance to have Rob Gronkowski escort the child of a very lucky — and well-to-do — fan to school in a limousine.
The winning bid? According to a Boston Herald report: A whopping $30,000.
But let’s be clear that whoever won the item will be getting their money’s worth. The child undoubtedly will be the big kid on campus that particular day as Gronk will also spend part of the day hanging out with the child and his or her classmates. The tight end also will be handing out a bag of autographed balls.
Apparently, a limo was the vehicle of choice as the notion of Gronk escorting a youngster to school in one of his party buses must have been viewed as a tad bit over the top and maybe even a little inappropriate.
In any event, the Gronk package wasn’t the only high-buck item offered, and others similarly raised a lot of money.
The opportunity for one fan and seven guests to take part in a game-film breakdown during a one-hour session with Bill Belichick also netted thirty grand.
Another fan paid $85,000 for a Tom Brady-led passing clinic for 10 that also includes lunch and a tour of the team’s football facilities.
But the biggest charitable windfall of the evening featured the chance to take a flight on Patriots owner Robert Kraft’s private jet to a “mutually agreed upon road game, along with police escorts, VIP transportation to and from the game, a pre-game visit on the field, and watching the game from the visiting team owner’s suite alongside the Kraft family.”
The winning bid? $95,000.
But hey, it was all for charity, meaning every dollar raised will go to some very worthwhile cause or another.
