Bosworth reportedly files his own concussion suit against NFL
Brian Bosworth wasn't part of the class-action lawsuit filed by former NFL players against the league over its treatment of their concussions. So The Boz has filed his own.
TMZ Sports reports that Bosworth is suing the NFL, claiming his multiple concussions weren't treated properly and the league knew more about the effects of head trauma than it was letting on, and the NFL glorified violence to the detriment of its players. Bosworth also is suing helmet-maker Riddell.
Bosworth -- who entered the league with the Seahawks in 1987 carrying a superstar's level of hype from his college days at Oklahoma, only to last just three pro seasons -- says he's dealing with the after-effects of his brief NFL career with severe headaches and memory loss.
All of which sounds familiar. That's what former players who previously sued the league have said.
The NFL settled with its former players over the summer, though some have opted out, saying they don't like the settlement. The NFL will pay out according to formulas that take into account a former player's age and particular affliction.
And once more, just as he did during his playing days, The Boz is going his own way.
