Bears cut Ray McDonald after domestic violence arrest

After being arrested Monday morning — the second time in a matter of months — Ray McDonald did not last another day with the Chicago Bears, as the team has announced he has been released.

McDonald was charged with domestic violence and possible child endangerment after he allegedly assaulted a woman while she was holding a baby. Chicago signed the former San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman in March after the Niners released him for another domestic violence arrest. No charges were filed then.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network notes that one key member of the Bears said "good riddance" when asked about McDonald being released.

With his latest arrest, McDonald has likely played his last down in the NFL. He was already on a short leash with the Bears’ front office. It wasn’t even like this was McDonald’s second chance. It was more like a fourth or fifth chance, and he blew it.

There are wrongful acts, and then there are disgusting, unspeakable acts. McDonald will likely never play in the NFL again, and no one is going to miss him.
