Wiggins on dunk contest: 'That's too far away to think about'

On Wednesday, Andrew Wiggins, the 2015 NBA Rookie of the Year, helped the league unveil its new logo for 2016's All-Star Weekend, which is scheduled to take place in Toronto.
It's the first time the event will occur outside the United States. But more important than that was the attention Wiggins received in his home country. Many questions were asked, including one about the dunk contest. Here's more, courtesy of The Toronto Star's Doug Smith:
"He knows fans would love to see him take part in next February’s dunk contest as part of the NBA’s all-star weekend in Toronto, and those same fans would appreciate it if he suits up for Canada in July’s Pan Am Games, but he is not ready to commit to either one. 'That’s too far away to think about,' Wiggins said of the dunk contest, which could be one of the marquee events of the weekend that will consume the attention of fans next winter. 'I’m sure people want to see it, but I just have to do what’s best for me, do what I want to do.'"
Whether he competes in the dunk contest or not, Wiggins is a tremendous basketball player whose future feels limitless. The Timberwolves are extremely fortunate to have him, and there's no ruling out the possibility he plays in the actual All-Star game as early as next season.
