Terry Stotts: 'I think our pick-and-rolls have a chance to be very effective'
The Portland Trail Blazers lost LaMarcus Aldridge, Nicolas Batum, Wesley Matthews and Robin Lopez this summer, but their head coach, Terry Stotts, doesn't seem to think those personnel changes will require his team to make philosophical adjustments related to their playing style, on either side of the floor.
Here's what Stotts recently said during an interview with Trail Blazers Courtside Tuesday, per SB Nation's Blazer's Edge:
"I think our pick-and-rolls have a chance to be very effective with Meyers out there because he spaces the court, but certainly I think offensively it's going to be, it's going to evolve, but I think the style of play of how we want to play isn't going to change...I do believe in pushing the ball...I don't want to run and jack up shots. What we're doing is laying the foundation not just for this year but for years to come...I want to emphasize passing and making each other better."
