#TBT: Watch Kevin Garnett's first ever 40-point game
As great as Kevin Garnett was early in his career, KG didn't actually get to 40 point until later than you might expect. Garnett's career-high was always the 33 points he dropped once as a rookie and replicated during his second season until he got into his fifth year in the league.
Garnett was uber consistent by that point. He was one of the few players averaging 20 & 10 the previous season. Still, he only went for 30 once. But near the end of his fifth year, he really started to break out and become prime KG, going for 40 in a March game against the Celtics.
The NBA was kind enough to post footage of that game on it's YouTube channel Thursday. Here's the video:
Garnett wasn't just done with the Celtics. In the very next game, he went for 38 against the Nets.
