Suns coach Jeff Hornacek on three-guard lineup: "Every game somebody wasn't happy"
In his first year as head coach of the Phoenix Suns, Jeff Hornacek vaulted the team into playoff contention. In his second year, Hornacek was in survival mode more than anything else.
Although the end result of missing the playoffs was the same in both seasons, this year presented some unique challenges that Hornacek reflected on in an interview with the Phoenix Suns official website.
"There were lots of ups and downs. Everything wasn't as smooth as the first year. A lot of things happened, and every year is going to be different.
The three-guard lineup to start the season was working pretty decently, but every game somebody wasn't happy, or two guys weren't happy. So that eventually caught up and when Goran [Dragic] said he wasn't going to re-sign, that put everything into a scramble."
