Steve Kerr breaks another clipboard as Warriors suffer rare consecutive losses
For the first time in nearly two years, the Golden State Warriors have lost two in a row in the regular season after falling to the Chicago Bulls 94-87 on Thursday.
For any other team, this wouldn't be too far of a departure from the norm, but the Warriors are far from a normal squad. They won an NBA-record 73 regular-season games last year and have made back-to-back Finals appearances.
Despite Thursday's loss – the Warriors' second straight since Kevin Durant injured his knee and first without him – Golden State is still three games up on the Spurs for the best record in the NBA, but Steve Kerr apparently takes no solace in that fact. The Warriors head coach showed his frustration Thursday night, dropping a broken clipboard and tossing a marker.

So was it the Warriors’ poor shooting (6 of 30 from deep) that pushed him over the edge in the third quarter? Kerr said it had more to do with effort than execution.
“There was a loose ball, and we didn’t treat the ball valuably,” Kerr told reporters after the game.

But this isn’t the first time the seemingly mild-mannered Kerr has destroyed one of his tools of the trade. During Game 1 of last year’s NBA Finals, Kerr mangled his clipboard.
So why does he resort to this?
"Destruction tends to ease some of the anger,” Kerr said after last year’s Game 1 win over the Cavs. “I try to take it out on a clipboard instead of a player.”
