Report: Wizards' Gortat out at least two games while mother is sick
The Washington Wizards are already thin in their frontcourt, but things are about to get worse after a recent report that center Marcin Gortat will miss at least two games while visiting his sick mother in Poland.
Here's CSN Mid-Atlantic with more:
Reeling from a shocking loss to the Los Angeles Lakers and as the injuries pile up on the Wizards' bigs, the team will not have starting center Marcin Gortat for at least two games and possibly more, starting with Friday's home date against the Phoenix Suns, persons with knowledge of the situation told CSNmidatlantic.com. The Wizards (7-9) play the Dallas Mavericks at home Sunday and are at the Miami Heat on Monday.
Washington's best big man will be missed, and it's unclear who will start in his place because Drew Gooden and Nene are both already hurt. Maybe Randy Wittman goes nuts and temporarily inserts Jared Dudley at the five? Kris Humphries is still around, Ryan Hollins was just signed last week and DeJuan Blair is a person. Who knows what they'll do.
Regardless, let's hope Gortat's mom is able to pull through from whatever she's dealing with.
