Report: Tom Thibodeau to become president and head coach of Timberwolves
Tom Thibodeau is reportedly on his way to becoming president and head coach of the Timberwolves, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports. Scott Layden, currently the assistant GM for the San Antonio Spurs, will reportedly take the GM job in Minnesota.

Thibodeau, 58, spent this past season out of the NBA, after coaching the Chicago Bulls for the previous five seasons -- all of which resulted in playoff appearances. His critics will point to the way he played his players heavy (and sometimes excessive) minutes, but Thibodeau always got maximum effort out of those Bulls teams, and was lauded for the way he got them to play defense.
Told approximately $11M/year is the price being negotiated for the Thibs/Layden combo. Taylor not messing around. #twolves

The Timberwolves have one of the brightest futures in the league from a talent perspective. They have the reigning Rookie of the Year in Andrew Wiggins, and Karl-Anthony Towns is a virtual lock to win the award this season. They'll add even more young talent with a high lottery pick this summer, so you can see why the Minnesota job is one of the most attractive ones around.
