Report: San Antonio Spurs sign Keifer Sykes

Published Aug. 10, 2015 10:24 a.m. ET

The San Antonio Spurs have 13 players on guaranteed contracts and three of them are point guards (Tony Parker, Patty Mills and Ray McCallum). A fourth point guard, Jimmer Fredette, is also on board, tied to a partially guaranteed deal.

But none of this stopped the Spurs from reportedly bringing in a six-footer by the name of Keifer Sykes.

A four-year player for the Green Bay Phoenix, Sykes shot over 40 percent from deep his sophomore season but finished at just 32.7 percent in his collegiate career. Otherwise, he can really put the ball in the basket, particularly on forays into the paint.

San Antonio is always looking for undeveloped talent, but it's doubtful Sykes makes the final roster.
