NBA Playoff Central: How the Spurs got their revenge, and their title
The Heat entered the NBA Finals in search of a three-peat. The Spurs were on a quest for one for the thumb.
And in the end, five was indeed greater than three.
San Antonio, admittedly playing with the pain of last season's seven-game still fresh in its memory, left no doubt this time, blew out Miami in five games, exacting revenge and getting the fifth NBA championship in franchise history.
Both teams entered the series led by their Big Three, but it was the Spurs’ ‘other’ star, 22-year-old Kawhi Leonard, who stole the show and took home Finals MVP.
Take a look back at the NBA Finals — and every other series from the postseason — right here in our Playoff Central.
