Memphis Grizzlies Once Again Sign Toney Douglas To 10-Day Contract

Guard Toney Douglas is one again a member of the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Memphis Grizzlies announced on Thursday the signing of point guard Toney Douglas to a second 10-day contract.

Douglas has played in 11 games for the Grizzlies this season.

Memphis is 10-1 in those 11 games.

Douglas didn’t start any of those games, but he’s averaged just over 16 minutes of action. He’s averaging 5.3 points per game this season and 2.1 assists per game.

I’m not going to say that Douglas is the sole reason the Grizzlies went 10-1 in an 11 game span, but he obviously had something to do with it.

If something works, no matter how small it may seem, then it seems wise to go back to that formula.

Douglas is obviously a guy that can be a key role player for the Grizzlies as the second half of the season approaches.

Memphis, who has won seven of their last ten games, is currently in sixth place in the Western Conference.

The Grizzlies are two games out of fourth place, and they have an 8.5 game lead over the eighth place Denver Nuggets.

There’s no doubt that Memphis is a team that can make some noise in the playoffs, but they’ll need a little more consistency if they hope to play into May/June.
