LeBron James' historic Finals streak gives Ric Flair some much-needed joy
Maybe LeBron James making history will cheer poor Ric Flair up.
The guy's had a pretty rough time lately. His daughter Charlotte disowning him in the middle of the ring on Raw this past Monday was a disturbing mix of reality and scipted spectacle. This is a man who used to be one of the biggest names in the business. He won championships. He rode in limousines and private jets. He commanded the Four Horsemen. He compared his ... prowess ... to riding Space Mountain. He was the Nature Boy.

And he did it all -- or most of it, anyway -- for NWA/WCW. Other than a brief stretch in the 90s, none of his fame helped Vince McMahon's WWF/WWE empire. So now, the only show left in town has no qualms about sifting through the mud of Flair's personal life to make for sports entertainment fodder.
Fine. That's their prerogative, we guess. At least this time, despite the tears, he appeared to be in on the act, if only because he probably still needs the paycheck. But remember, it's not just the recent Charlotte angle; WWE literally brought up the 2013 death of Flair's son from an overdose for the sake of a promo this past November. Flair says he wasn't informed of the idea. Why would he have been? He's pretty much been treated as a jobber.
Anyway, we digress. Flair thought it was pretty awesome that James clinched his sixth consecutive Finals appearance on Friday with a Game 6 win over the Toronto Raptors:
Let's end it tonight @KingJames! No need for a Game 7! To Be The Man You Gotta Beat The Man!

Flair has previously expressed his love for the Cavs, including hyping up the home crowd during Game 4 of last year's Finals and going so far as to (kind of creepily) insinuate that he wouldn't mind if his daughter dated Kevin Love. lair also claims that LeBron is a huge fan, having called the wrestling legend the "inventor of swag."
We can't confirm Flair's story, but we'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Why not? He doesn't need us piling on this week.
