Klay Thompson is questionable for Friday's game against Celtics

Golden State Warriors swingman Klay Thompson is day-to-day with a sprained right ankle and is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Boston Celtics, according to Inside Bay Area.

Thompson did not participate in Warriors practice on Wednesday, but did some light shooting afterwards and said the sprain was "very mild." He appeared to be walking around fine.

"I felt a lot better than last night. Hopefully, I'll get the same progress tomorrow, and I should be good to go here soon," Thompson said.

Warriors interim head coach Luke Walton said the team will take extra precaution with Thompson and won't play him if there's any doubt at all.

"We're obviously going to be cautious with it," Warriors interim head coach Luke Walton said. "If there's any doubt about it, then we'll rest him. The training staff seemed pleasantly surprised by how it looked this morning, and he said it feels pretty good. It's nice to have these two days to get a sense of how it's feeling."

Thompson scored a season-high 39 points in the Warriors' 131-123 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday. He landed on teammate Shaun Livingston's foot and twisted his ankle in the game's final minute.

Warriors reserve guard Leandro Barbosa is also listed as questionable because of an illness that caused him to miss the Pacers game.

If both Thompson and Barbosa miss Friday's game, reserve guard Ian Clark will likely be the favorite to start at shooting guard, according to Walton. He prefers to have Andre Iguodala come off the bench and anchor the second unit.
