How did Kevin Martin score 37 with broken wrist? He credits the Knicks

Published Sep. 28, 2015 3:14 p.m. ET

Kevin Martin missed almost two months last season with a broken wrist after injuring himself during a November game against the Knicks. But that contest against New York was actually one of Martin's finest individual games of the regular season.

He finished with 37 points on just 20 shots, including seven made three-pointers. Not bad for a guy who just broke a bone in his shooting wrist. And how did he do it? He answered Monday at the Timberwolves' media day, via William Bohl of A Wolf Among Wolves:

Martin may not be in the right spot to throw jabs at the 2014-15 Knicks. Sure, they won only 17 games, but the one team registering fewer victories than them was Martin's Wolves. I'm sure he'll get a nice New York welcome when he plays his next game at MSG.
