Grizzlies Make qualifying offer to Nick Calathes

While the Memphis Grizzlies are courting reserve guard Mo Williams, they're also hatching a security plan at the reserve point guard slot.

Reports Wednesday tell us that the team has offered the qualifying offer to resident role player Nick Calathes. Per team policy, details of the offer have not been disclosed. But what we do know is that the Grizzlies have the right to match any offers from opposing teams, now that they've offered Calathes the minimum.

That might not be necessary if they're able to bring in Williams. Time will tell us who backs up Mike Conley next season.
