Dwyane Wade brushes off LeBron James' desire to play together again

Dwyane Wade isn't getting into the LeBron stuff. Not now, at least.

As the Miami Herald's Ethan J. Skolnick reported, Wade is trying his best not to get sucked into the vortex of assertions and conjecture surrounding LeBron James' comments about wanting to play on a team alongside he, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul before retiring.

James' comments were published Wednesday in a piece by Bleacher Report's Howard Beck. In it, James talked about wanting to play a season or two with his best NBA friends before hanging it up.

"I really hope that, before our career is over, we can all play together," James said. "At least one, maybe one or two seasons--me, Melo, D-Wade, CP--we can get a year in. I would actually take a pay cut to do that."

When asked about James' wishes, Wade brushed it off. That team is a fantasy, at least for now.

"I don't know, man," Wade said. "I mean, yeah, I heard it, I read it. But I'm not really not jumping into the headlines right now. I'm focused on my teammates right here. As cool as the headlines [are], it has nothing to do with what we're trying to do in here. So I'm not going to jump into the headlines."

This is probably a prudent move by Wade, who's watched his former teammate slip into a weird fit of pique over the last week that included unfollowing the Cavaliers on Twitter (gasp!) and goofing around at halftime during Saturday's blow loss to Miami.

James has reportedly been sat down and spoken to about these on different occasions by Tyronn Lue and Cavaliers general manager David Griffith since Saturday's loss. These talks were "positive" and "productive," according to Cleveland.com's Joe Vardon

Positive. Productive. And keep Wade out of it, man.

Dan is on Twitter. He appreciates his friends fever dreams but don't put it on the timeline, man.
