Don't sleep on the new rap song from Blazers guard Damian Lillard

Portland's Damian Lillard has a side career as a rapper. Known as Dame D.O.L.L.A., he released another song late on Tuesday night. But don't sleep on it.

"They don't want to see us win," is the first line of the song. It's a play on the famous catchphrase of DJ Khaled, who often remarks on Snapchat about what people don't want to see you do. But that lyric also provides insight into Lillard as a character. For all intents and purposes, the basketball community might just be underestimating the Portland star.

"So what are we gonna do?" the song continues. "We gonna win anyway. That's a major key."

Despite low expectations heading into the season after losing LaMarcus Aldridge to San Antonio and Wesley Matthews to Dallas, Lillard has led Portland to a .500 record at the All-Star break. The Trail Blazers rank seventh in the Western Conference, enough to make the playoffs if the season ended today.

Lillard, meanwhile, averages a career-high 24.3 points with a career-high 7.3 assists per game. He also adds a career-high 2.9 three's per game. Lillard ranks sixth in the NBA for scoring this season, yet was snubbed by the Western Conference and didn't make the All-Star roster this year.

"I ain't make the All-Stars, but I'm flu game sick," raps Lillard. "Last time they count me, what I do? Game 6."

The Portland guard was also only added to the Team USA Olympics Finalists last week, after originally failing to qualify. His motivation to prove doubters wrong shines through in this new track.

As a rap song, Lillard offers a surprisingly fantastic product. He's been busy, creatively, with lots of new recent releases. But lyrics like this one remind fans why Lillard is the best athlete-rapper in the game right now:

"I've been dumbing down the flow because most of you wouldn't get it."
