DeAndre Jordan isn't changing anything about his free-throw shooting

Published Sep. 29, 2015 5:15 p.m. ET

If your free-throw stroke ain't broke, don't fix it. Or so the (NBA) adage goes. But what if it is broke? Shouldn't you try to fix it?

Well, yes, that would make sense. But Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan is going against conventional wisdom when it comes to improving his free-throw shooting and, well, not doing much of anything:

We'll see how that strategy pans out this season.

Jordan is one of the worst free-throw shooters ever, shooting 41.7 percent for his career and only shooting above 50 percent once (52.5 percent in 2011-12). Work ethic isn't an issue -- Jordan has poured hours of hard work into improving his free-throw shooting after countless practices. His form is fine, too. It's completely mental.

Maybe not doing anything will work for him. At this point, it can't get much worse.
