Cavs' J.R. Smith expected to miss at least next two games
CLEVELAND -- Cavaliers starting guard J.R. Smith will miss at least two games with a bruised right knee.
The team said an MRI taken Tuesday revealed the bruise as well as right quadriceps tendinitis. Smith will miss Wednesday's home game against New York and Friday's against Philadelphia. He is doubtful for Sunday against Indiana.
Cavs coach David Blatt said he feared Smith was injured more seriously. Blatt said Smith "locked legs" with 76ers forward Nerlens Noel in the first quarter of Cleveland's win at Philadelphia.
Blatt would not reveal his plans to replace Smith in the starting lineup. Matthew Dellavedova and Jared Cunningham likely will get more playing time with Smith sidelined.
Cleveland is also without All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving (knee surgery) and Iman Shumpert (wrist surgery).
