Alvin Gentry got pranked by Steve Kerr and the Warriors after taking Pelicans job
Game 1 of the NBA Finals is tomorrow, and that means it's time for these two teams to lock down, get focused and prepare to play at least four of the most important games of their basketball lives.
But that doesn't mean that the Golden State Warriors can't have a little fun at the expense of Alvin Gentry, the new head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans. As ESPN's Ramona Shelburne reports, Warriors coach Steve Kerr couldn't resist catching Gentry off guard as he thought he was presenting a video breaking down the Cleveland Cavaliers' defense:
"'I start in like, 'Guys, here are some of the plays we ran against them that really worked well,'' Gentry said. 'And I look at the screen and it's all a bunch of fricking Pelicans highlights.
"'They've got captions under the plays like, 'Boy, this team has a lot of potential.' There's this play with Anthony Davis dunking and the caption says, 'God, this guy is GOOD!''"
It's like they always say -- the team that laughs together while having the video coordinators assist with an elaborate prank, wins championships together.
