Prior to the opening of the season, many wondered whether this would be Roush Fenway Racing's year.

Pundits pointed to Roush Fenway's Carl Edwards as the driver who could end Hendrick Motorsports' stranglehold on the NASCAR Sprint Cup title and Jimmie Johnson's run at a fourth consecutive championship.
