Former NASCAR driver Robby Gordon may have walked away from the stock car game, but his passion for racing is far from gone. These days, Gordon spends his time and effort racing off-road trucks in his new stadium series and in some of the most difficult endurance races in the world.

Saturday, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Gordon ended the final stage of the 2015 Dakar Rally with his 10th-career stage victory. In the final stage of the 9,000-kilometer, 13-day route, Gordon and navigator Johnny Campbell scored the victory in 13 minutes and 16 seconds, 25 seconds ahead of Leeroy Poulter in second.

The final stage victory helped propel Gordon to an overall finish of 19th in the race. Finishing with a total time of 48 hours, 20 minutes and five seconds, Gordon was one of only 67 of the 137 cars to complete the entire race.

Gordon opened the Dakar Rally of strong, finishing second in the first stage, third in the fifth stage, and earning five top-10 finishes throughout the event. However, mechanical issues hurt the team during the second and fourth stages of the event.

"Some of the things that bit us early in the race really put the mentality of the team behind, but one thing about our team is they don't stop," Gordon said. "They worked all night long every night and kept rebuilding the car.

"We learned to not give up and the most important thing is that we know our car is capable. We won the last stage of the Rally and ended the 2015 event on a positive note."

Nasser Al-Attiyah of Qatar was the overall winner of the 2015 Dakar Rally, earning the victory in 40 hours, 32 minutes and 25 seconds.
