India's Karthikeyan to drive for Hispania F1

Formula One team Hispania has confirmed the appointment of India's Narain Karthikeyan as one of its two race drivers for the 2011 season.

Karthikeyan previously drove in F1 for the Jordan team in 2005 and should bring sponsor interest from the Indian market for a team seeking to raise funds and boost its resources for the coming season.

Karthikeyan said ''I am confident that I still have the pace, the fitness and the will to succeed in Formula One.''

Since his time at Jordan, he had been a test driver for Williams, competed in A1GP, the World Cup of Motorsport, the Le Mans series and Le Mans 24-hour race, followed by stints in the NASCAR truck series and the Superleague Formula during 2010.
