Full results from Practice No. 2 for Monster Energy Series

LAS VEGAS -- Chase Elliott was fastest in Saturday’s first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series practice – and the second overall – for this Sunday’s Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Elliott, the second-year Cup driver of the No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet, turned the fastest lap of the practice at 191.510 miles per hour in the 55-minute session.
Elliott is seeking his first career Cup win and will roll off 12th in Sunday’s race after Friday’s qualifying effort. But in Saturday’s morning practice at the 1.-5-mile track, no one was faster.
Elliott was followed on the speed chart by Kyle Larson (188.818 mph), but Larson's quickest lap was quite a bit slower. Matt Kenseth (188.594 mph), Kyle Busch (188.515 mph) and Kasey Kahne (188.068 mph) rounded out the top five.
The practice was marked by teams practicing pit stops so they could gauge their speeds on pit road. This obviously was in response to a spate of pit-road speeding penalties -- including one that appeared to cost Kevin Harvick the race win -- last week at Atlanta.
As in Atlanta, NASCAR has added new timing lines to pit road at LVMS in an attempt to cut down -- or at least catch -- pit-road speeders.
There is one more Cup practice set for today, the final one before Sunday's Kobalt 400 that will be televised on FOX with pre-race coverage beginning at 3 p.m. ET. Saturday's Happy Hour will commence at 2:30 p.m. ET on FS1.
