Edwards has driver on standby at 'Dega

Babies don't always wait for races to finish.

Carl Edwards' wife is pregnant with the couple's second child and is due this month. Not wanting to miss the it, Edwards has a plan in place so he could leave Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Talladega at a moment's notice.

Roush Fenway Racing has Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. on standby to take over in case the driver of the 99 car splits to be at his wife's side.

Edwards, the current championship leader, has one win under his belt this season.
