Joey Logano secured his fourth-consecutive Chase appearance in 2016 when he posted a win at the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan in June. In past seasons, Logano has entered the Chase with more momentum and wins than he has in 2016, but he's still a contender with his lowest Chase finish coming in 2013 when he placed eighth.

Outside of a few rough patches spread throughout the season, Logano has consistently finished inside the top-10 in 2016. Since the All-Star race in May, Logano has finished 10th or better in 12 of 14 races. His two other finishes: 37th at Pocono in August and 39th at Kentucky in July. Fortunately for him, Logano won't have to see either of those tracks in the Chase.

Five-defining moments

1. FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan -- Logano finally cashed in and locked up a Chase spot after flirting with victory lane throughout the 2016 season, when he held off Chase Elliott to take the first Michigan race.

2. GoBowling.com 400 at Kansas -- Joey Logano got caught up in an accident for the second-straight week, when Denny Hamlin came across in front of him after hitting the wall, causing Logano to finish 38th.

3. NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte -- Joey Logano’s victory at the All-Star race sparked the second-half of his season as he reeled off five-straight top-10 finishes, including his win at Michigan.

4. Quaker State 400 at Kentucky -- One of Logano’s momentum-slowing speed bumps this season came when he wrecked at Kentucky and finished 39th. Those handful of poor finishes have restricted Logano from the usual momentum he seems to bring into the Chase.

5. Cheez-It 355 at The Glen -- After struggling at Pocono the week before, Logano rebounded at Watkins Glen to finish second and setup his final stretch into the Chase with five-straight top-10 finishes.
